Live engraving event at the Asian Art Museum

Nancy Huang by Design specializes in live engraving and calligraphy services. I’m here to elevate your brand activations, weddings, and events through live entertainment and personalization for your guests. I had the pleasure of coming on-site for Tatcha’s company party, held at The Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. Most of the time, I engrave for customers and VIP clients for brands, but it’s always nice to attend an event celebrating their employees. For this event, we engraved these beautiful sake cups, which matched Tatcha’s brand perfectly.

To ensure a smooth experience for over 200 guests, I brought on a team to help manage the flow and to ensure everyone received a personalized engraving in a timely manner. We engraved and packaged the cups in gold gift bags, serving as the ideal party favor.

Our station was busy the entire 4 hours – it was an absolute hit! Guests were so excited watching and recording the live engraving process. They absolutely loved the entire experience, from observing us engrave to receiving their personalized favors.

With new technology and mass production, live engraving brings a personal and unique touch to any item.

The personalization process

Months before the event, Tatcha reached out to inquire about the possibility of engraving sake cups. The great thing about engraving is that it can be applied on almost any surface (glass, stone, metal, plastic, wood). We tested a few different cups before the event to ensure it was to my artistic standards and that it was to the client’s liking. I was able to advise them about the best cup to go with for this high volume event.

At the event, I brought a second artist with me, which was key to ensuring a smooth personalization flow for the guests. While one artist was engraving, the other was interacting with the guest and packaging their gifts.

It was a wonderful event with, and so honored to have been invited by Tatcha to engrave at one of my favorite museums in the Bay Area.
